Our
new Small Projects Section features projects that cost $500
or under. Together with interested Children
International sponsors, we aim to raise funds for things
like beds, tables, chairs, supplies, and more for needy families
around the world. If you have an idea for a future small project,
please email Anastasia Yecke at ayecke@hotmail.com

Project #8: Meet Marie Cris
of the Phillipines
Marie
Cris is
sponsored by Marie M. of Toulouse, France.
Marie
writes:
Marie
Cris is a little 10-year-old girl who lives in the Philippines
with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Mary Ann (21), Michelle
(18), Michael (17), Antonio (14), and Mark (4). Her father
is 51 years old and works as a driver. He is the family's
sole provider as Marie's mother passed away after the birth
of her youngest brother Mark.
The
entire family lives in the smallest room of their home because:
* The family has rented one room of their home in order to
help them earn extra income.
* Another bigger room of the home has been leased/pawned to
a neighbor whom Marie Cris’ father owes money.
The
family is in dire need of an income-generating project: previously,
the family raised piglets and then sold them for profit.

Project #8 will fund:
$450 would cover the purchase of 9 piglets,
2 sacks of feed (a one-month supply),
and minor repairs to the existing pigpen.
Once the pigs have grown,
the family will sell them and purchase
more piglets to continue the cycle.
$50 will be used to provide food and
clothing to the
members of Marie Cris’s family.

In 2005 Children International launched an
online fundraising tool inspired
by Aura's House called SponsorThon. Since then, it has now grown
and evolved into the Lift One Project.
Just $22 a month will help a child get basic medical and dental
care, schooling, clothing, and more. Learn
