Small
Project #16 launched August 31, 2007 and completed
on November 3, 2007:
Our goal was to give Allison Dalgo (14), and her family
of Ecuador the following badly needed gifts: a bed,
mattress, dresser, gas stove with oven, blender, desk,
and a table. Our goal was to raise $500.
All donations are 100% US Tax Deductible thanks
to receipts provided by Children
International.

The fundraiser for Small Project #16 is Autumn Teeter. of San Francisco, CA.
Autumn writes:
"Hello! My name is Autumn and I am currently living in San Francisco. Ever since I was a teenager living in Southern California I had been interested in sponsoring a child. But for many years I was traveling and moving around from state to state and country to country and after a while, I finally settled in the Bay Area.
Feeling that I now had a relatively stable address, I decided it was the right time and I have been sponsoring a lovely girl in Ecuador named Allison for just over three years. I learned about Aura's House through Children International and immediately thought it was a fantastic idea. Not only is Aura's House helping children and their families and communities around the world, but it's also helping people like me who, for various reasons, might not be able to commit to monthly sponsorship
The first day I visited the site I decided to contact the creator, Kristen Palana, and asked if I could interview her for the online cultural magazine Culture Groove. Since then we have kept in touch and, as some of you may already know, have decided to team up to bring interesting articles to the Aura's House contributors, as well new perspectives to the Culture Groove readers. You can read my interview with Kristen here. |
I also volunteer locally with the African People's Education and Defense Fund and Build It Green and am the creator of a support site for individuals taking the steps toward living a greener life. I am passionate about helping people to live a better, greener and just life in today's chaotic world.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for helping Aura's House become the success that it is. May we all continue to touch and enrich lives and fight for the social and economic justice of people less fortunate than ourselves."
Thanks,
Autumn

In 2005 Children International launched an
online fundraising tool inspired
by Aura's House called SponsorThon. Since then, it has now grown
and evolved into the Lift One Project.
Just $22 a month will help a child get basic medical and dental
care, schooling, clothing, and more. Learn
