We aimed to build a one story classroom structure for the Sto. Nino Elementary School in Manila. Total enrollment is 4,611 students. There are 27 classrooms and 81 teachers. The average teacher to pupil ratio is 1 to 57. Students study in 3 four-hour shifts and are forced to study in outdoor areas or inside where the walls leak and the air gets unbearably hot due to GI sheets used as roofing. When the weather gets too bad, classes are cancelled. Read the classroom proposal

Christian and his classmates (and their families) hope for a better future through education. Thanks to our donors, the children from the Sto. Nino Elementary School will now get a new classroom that will increase space, add more time to their school day, and improve their chances for breaking the cycle of poverty. Learn more.

We aimed to build a desperately needed classroom structure for 4,611 students in a cramped schoolhouse in Manila. Meet Christian (8) who attends the school and hoped for a new classroom. This virtual schoolhouse built up brick by brick to reflect how close we were to $7000. A new brick was added with every $50 donated. Now that we have met our goal, construction on the real classroom structure in Manila, Philippines will begin. Stay tuned for updates.
