Aura's House was originally created to raise $4500 to build a safe, sturdy brick home for Aura Hernandez and her family in Guatemala. Since our goal was met in November of 2004, we decided to launch other small projects that bring big changes to the lives of families in developing countries. More about us.



Our ongoing Small Projects Section features projects that cost $500 or under. Together with interested Children International sponsors, we raise funds for things like beds, tables, chairs, supplies, and more for needy families around the world. Our most recent complete Small Projects include:

Guatemala Bed Project launched May 25, 2008 and completed December 29, 2008.

We Did It $4,516 Raised! We aimed to buy desperately needed beds for impoverished families in Guatemala. Our goal was to raise $4200. Each bed costs $105 and our goal was to provide beds (mattresses included) to the 40 neediest families identified by Children International's Guatemala City Agency. All donations are 100% US Tax Deductible.

Recent donor, Eliana put forth a $28.28 for 28 Challenge to her friends and family and has raised over $600 to date.

We built a desperately needed brick home for Bacilio Ramirez (10) and his family of eight who used to live in a two room house made of mud, wood planks, and plastic bags.
   


The funds raised purchased a chicken farm that helps feed the students as well as teach them agricultural skills that will help them become self-sufficient.

 This project served to provide badly needed desks, books, supplies, and lab equipment for the slum children of the Galilee School in Kenya.

We aimed to build a desperately needed classroom structure for 4,611 students in a cramped schoolhouse in Manila. Meet Christian (8) who attends the school and hoped for a new classroom.
