We have a
lot to be thankful for here at Aura's House.
First of all, thanks to all our donors,
we've raised a record $1000 in October! That's $300 more than our
best month so far. Our total as of October 31st is $3139.
That means that if we can raise at least $700 in November and $700 in
December, we'll have our goal by the Holidays and can start building a
safe, sturdy brick home for the Hernandez Family first thing in 2005!
Another reason to be thankful -good karma! When my family donated $40
to Aura's House for my Grandfather's 91st birthday, his beloved Boston
Red Sox made it to the World Series that day and later won it all for
him after 86 years of waiting. Coincidence? I think not!
Has anything
freakishly good happened to you since you donated or are you still waiting
to make a 100% US. tax deductible gift? No matter what happens, you'll
feel really good helping out a family that will never be able to repay
you.
More shocking than the Red Sox actually winning the World Series will
be the news Aura and her family get on Christmas that a group of people
thousands of miles away pooled together to buy a home for them, ready
to be built in January.
Will you help make an impossible dream a reality? Donate
today.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Best wishes,
Kristen Palana

Donors: Gen, Karen, and Sebby
Two days ago
we got word of an offline donation from Gen, Karen, and Sebby. The
check was made out for $4.60 and no other information was received other
than the three first names.
We could
be wrong, but we are guessing that Gen, Karen, and Sebby are three big
hearted kids who wanted to help out another kid thousands of miles away
in Guatemala. They put their money together and had Mom or Dad make out
a check and send it in.
Thanks guys!
It was a huge help, and together with all the other donations we are coming
together to build one big brick house. Every bit helps and your donation
is much appreciated.
Oh,
and if you're wondering what happened to the sixty cents, we rounded up
to the nearest dollar. :-)
