Where The Money Goes
100% of proceeds go directly to the needy families through Children International. Aura’s House is a 100% volunteer organization.
Donors to our Guatemala Bed Project and Small Projects will receive a receipt for tax deduction purposes within 3-5 weeks from Children International. If you have any problems or questions regarding your tax receipt or use of the donors only guestbook, you may email us at: info@aurashouse.com
All projects on the Aura's House site are 100% US tax deductible.
Kristen Palana originally set up a secure Paypal donation account specifically for the purpose of raising money to build a new brick house for the Hernandez family. Our goal was met and Aura Hernandez's house was finished in June of 2005. See pics. Today we have a direct payment link through Children International accepting online donations for the current projects featured on our home page.
Offline donations for Projects are sent directly to Children International (and may take 2-3 weeks to be added to the site's total). Online donations go directly to Children International and are earmarked for Aura's House projects. Online donations are reflected in the site's totals weekly, usually on Mondays.
Once We Reach Our Goals
Once we reach a project goal, the project's materials and items are purchased. Through working with Children International we will be able to post updates and photos on all Aura's House projects, past and present. Donors can also join our mailing list to receive a quarterly online newsletter of all the latest developments.

What's In It For You
Well, first you'll feel really good having helped out someone less fortunate than yourself. You can see the results of how small donations added up in the pics of Aura and her Family's new home and through the photos of all our past projects. Donations to all projects are 100% US tax deductible.
Constant Updates
All donors will receive a quarterly newsletter via email. Contact us to opt out of the newsletters or to receive them if you haven't donated.
Your Donation Helps More than One Family
We believe in the ripple effect. When poor families experience the random good fortune of getting help from strangers thousands of miles away, it will encourage them to help others. Our small, do-able projects have inspired others (rich or poor) to make their world a better place, little by little.
