Where The Money Goes
Kristen Palana originally set up a secure Paypal donation account specifically for the purpose of raising money to build a new brick house for the Hernandez family. Our goal was met and Aura Hernandez's house was finished in June of 2005. See pics.
Today the Paypal account is now only accepting donations for the India Well Project and Zambia School Project. 100% of proceeds go directly to the needy familes through Children International who will oversee the well building process in India and distribution of school uniforms and supplies in Zambia.
Offline donations are sent directly to Children International (and may take 2-3 weeks to be added to the site's total). Online donations are sent monthly to Greg Jones at Children International with a spreadsheet, which is a list of all donors both online and offline. Online donations are reflected in the site's total almost immediately.
Donors will receive a receipt for tax deduction purposes within 3-5 weeks. If you have any problems or questions regarding your tax receipt or use of the donors only guestbook, you may email us here.
Once We Reach Our Goals
Once $1850 has been raised, construction on the well in India will begin. The Zambia project is an ongoing project, and every $30 raised will make it possible for one more child to attend school. Children International will frequently provide updates on the kids and their progress in school.
Through working with Children International Representatives, we will be able to post updates and photos on all Aura's House projects, past and present.
What's In It For You
Well, first you'll feel really good having helped out a family less fortunate than yourself. You can see the results of how small donations added up in the pics of Aura and her Family's new home. All donations are 100% US tax deductible.

Constant Updates
All donors will receive a monthly newsletter via email. Contact us to opt out of the newsletters or to receive them if you haven't donated.
All names and comments from donors will be forwarded to the needy familes whenever possible so they will know exactly who is responsible for helping them.
Your Donation Helps More than One Family
We believe in the ripple effect. When poor families experience the random good fortune of getting help from strangers thousands of miles away, it will encourage them to help others. Our small, do-able projects have inspired others (rich or poor) to make their world a better place, little by little.
Students from William Paterson University are also being encouraged to use their art, graphic design, and web design skills to promote this site and help make a difference. They become more aware of the Global Community and become better citizens of the world.
