June 1, 2007.

Dear Aura's House Friends and Supporters,

Please accept my apology that www.aurashouse.com has been offline since Monday May 28, 2007. Aura's House has been having some web hosting issues.

We've had the same web hosting service (Global Internet Solutions) since 2003 and it's the same company I've used to host my personal website www.kpalana.com since 2001. Unfortunately while this company used to be quite reliable, they have gone downhill over the last few years and have given me many headaches. I foot the bill completely for our web host and domains and would like that money to be well spent for the benefit of having a secure website like Aura's House to help needy children around the world.

I've come to the decision that Aura's House, my personal website, and all my class websites I use for teaching students need to be moved to another, more reliable web host. This will take some time as domain names need to be transferred, files re-uploaded, email accounts re-set up, etc. I may come across some resistance from Global Internet Solutions as well for taking my business elsewhere.

Running Aura's House is a 7-day-a-week job and I have to thank Partners Anastasia Yecke, Mike Epler, and Christina Sidoti for their invaluable help. I've had a personally exhausting year on top of running Aura's House. I moved to a new country with a new language, started a new job, and am still in the process of moving my spouse across the ocean. Still, we've managed to keep the site going and have raised over $42,000 to date for needy children after almost 3 years in existence.

Please understand that I've been managing Aura's House for all this time with no significant break. Since so much needs to be re-set up anyway, I'd like to put any new Aura's House projects on hold until at least September of 2007.

I think you'll see that Aura's House will be a better site in the Fall because of it. We'll still keep you updated on recent and past projects through this email list. You'll also see the site back online in some form as soon as it is physically possible to do so.

Best wishes and thank you for your understanding,

Kristen Palana
