This
site was originally created to raise $4500 to build a safe,
sturdy brick home for Aura Hernandez and her family in Guatemala.
Since our goal was met in November of 2004, we decided to
launch other small projects that bring big changes to the
lives of families in developing countries. $50,544 raised to date for needy families. More

Meet Bacilio and view photos of his current house. Our goal was to raise $5500. All donations are 100% US Tax Deductible.

Bacilio and his family have no idea that Aura's House donors plan to help change their lives for the better by giving them the gift of a safe and sturdy brick home.
We aim to reach our $5500 goal by the end of December or earlier so the family may be given the good news just in time for the holidays.
If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, please make a small gift. Every bit helps, even $1.

Bacilio and seven other family members share a small, cramped two room dwelling. It has a dirt floor and walls made of mud, wood planks, and plastic bags.
Several years ago, Bacilio's father abandoned the family, forcing Bacilio's mother to move in with her parents and other extended family members.
By living in such an unstable house, the family is in danger of health problems due to exposure, as well as injury or death during severe storms and hurricanes.

Children International launched an online fundraising tool inspired
by Aura's House called Sponsor Thon which started in 2005. Sponsorthon
has now grown and evolved into the Lift One Project.
Just $22 a month will help a child get basic medical and dental care,
schooling, clothing, and more. See
the children on the waiting list and learn more about becoming a sponsor.
