Dear Aura's House Friends and Supporters,
As of January 13, 2008 the Aura's House site is on indefinite hold. The site was originally created to raise $4500 to build a brick home for my sponsored child, Aura Hernandez of Guatemala, through Children International.
Since meeting that first goal in 2004, the site has raised over $50,000 for needy children and their families around the world.
Myself and my wonderful partners, Anastasia Yecke, Mike Epler, and Christina Sidoti all work full time jobs and have witnessed the site grow into something much larger than we ever could have initially anticipated.
At this moment, we'd like to take a rest, re-collect our energies, and rekindle our passion for running the Aura's House website. Knowing us, we won't be able to NOT run the site for long. Please check back with us again for updates on recent projects or subscribe to our quarterly newsletters from the archived main site. |

Please also consider making a one-time donation to Children International or consider a monthly sponsorship to help a needy child on their waiting list.
We promise to be in touch soon when things get going again. If you have any web or programming experience and would like to volunteer some of your time and talents, you could help us get back up and running even faster. If you are interested, please email us at: info@aurashouse.com.
Best wishes and sincere thanks,
Kristen, along with Ana, Mike, Christina, and The Aura's House Team |

Small Project Updates
Thanks to the generosity of Aura’s House donors, fundraising for Small Project #16 was completed last November and gifts were recently purchased in January.
We were able to purchase the following items for 14-year-old Allison of Ecuador: a new bed, mattress, chest of drawers, stove, desk, table, kitchen items, linens, and clothing.
Vickie Wiedenmann, VP of Children International, writes, “What a difference these gifts will make in the lives of Allison and her family ... I know they are tremendously grateful for Autumn's continued sponsorship and the special support given to them through the efforts of Aura's House.” |
You can see pictures of Allison with her gifts here and read her letter of thanks here.
Stay tuned for updates and photos from Small Project #17 for 9-year-old Eswin of Guatemala and SP #18 for 11-year-old Maria of the Dominican Republic.
It’s hard to believe we’ve already finished 18 Small Projects…none of which would have been possible without the generosity of our donors! Thank you all.
