| Bacilio's House Project and Small Project #17 More than Half Complete |
Dear Aura's House Friends and Donors,
We're Getting There...
Thanks to our donors we are more than half finished raising funds for both our current projects at Aura's House. Special thanks to AH Partner, Mike Epler for his successful Matching Challenge.
Aura's House donors gave $500. Mike matched with another $500, and Mike's company Countrywide gave yet an additional $500. As of December 3, 2007 we have raised a total of $3321. Can we get to our goal of $5500 in time to surprise Bacilio and his family of eight with good news by the end of the year?

Inside Bacilio's current house.
Special thanks also goes to Amber Shannon, the owner of The Blue Butterfly Store. She donated 10% of in-store profits for the month of October to Bacilio's project. Thanks Amber!

Welcome to Chris Jozwiak
We've been working with Children International since 2003 and thanks to the wonderful efforts of Vickie Weidenmann and Greg Jones, this website not only became a reality but continues to run to this day. Vickie and Greg have been responsible, among other things, for issuing tax receipts to our donors, handling offline donations, providing text and photo updates for all our projects, and overseeing the logistics behind our CI related projects. The Aura's House team would now also like to welcome Chris Jozwiak of Children International as he will soon begin working with us.
Gift and In Loving Memory Cards
Recently we added printable cards for those who wish to donate in honor of family and friends. Feel free to visit this page for a preview of how they look. Click on the one you wish to print, and voila...you are ready to go. Thank you for considering a donation to Bacilio's House Project or Small Project #17 as possible holiday gifts or as a way to remember someone special.
Aura's House would like to wish you the Happiest of Holidays and all the best for 2008! Thanks as always for your support.
Best wishes,
Kristen, Anastasia, Mike, Christina, and the Aura's House Team |

Featured Donors: Michael Holter from Hampton, VA.
Michael writes:
"I have been employed as a contractor at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA since moving from California in 1979. I hail originally from central Pennsylvania.
I came to Aura's House by way of a Children International's (CI) blog. Several years ago, I received a letter from CI about 8 months after my wife's death. The letter recommended a trial sponsorship. After pondering it a bit, I chose the characteristics of a girl and a country of Honduras, which was my wife's home country. |

Michael Holter |
CI selected Nancy, a 6-year old girl who was not yet in school. It has been gratifying to see her advancement from not being able to read and write to now, several years later, being able to confidently express herself as her education progresses. From time to time, I have been able to send NASA educational outreach material as well as other books written in Spanish. Even if she doesn't become an astronaut, scientist, or engineer, her outlook will have been expanded by this exposure as well as by the computers and other programs provided by CI in their community centers. Best of all, Nancy, her family, and the community know that other people around the world care about them.
Aura's House is a wonderful way to help other sponsors improve the lives of their supported children. Aura's House’s concept enables any one to help with whatever size contribution they can afford. What is most encouraging is to see the involvement, commitment, and enthusiasm of young people including you, the founders and staff of Aura's House, the CI staff, as well as the younger sponsors."
